Project Mindmap

We thought about the various stereotypes and expectations that come with our chosen sub genre of psychological horrors which then gave us a starting point for ideas for our own film. For example, we found that psychological horrors often are not focussed around blood / death etc, but more on mental instabilities and we thoguht about how we could create this in our film through things such as shadows, hallucinations and black outs etc. This collection of ideas gave us a basic plan for the base of our film. For our film sequence, we have decided that we are going to use a quiet environment to create that airy feeling somebody/something mysterious is within the house along with the character, by doing this is will make the actor seem afraid of her own thoughts which causes her to become paranoid. The audience will be able to relate to the character as we will use camera shots and types, editing techniques, sound effects and effective mise-en-scene so they will be able to share the fear that the actor is feeling.
